Introduction: A Unique Path to Success:

In a world where many young people dream of becoming engineers or business executives, Vijay Pawar's story stands out. 

Instead of following the conventional route of working in a multinational company for a high salary, Vijay chose to return to his roots. 

Leaving behind a lucrative career in software development, he transformed his family's farm into a thriving mango orchard, becoming an inspiration for many.

From Pune to Dunava: A Bold Decision:

Vijay Pawar hails from Dunava village on Chhindwara Road in Multai tehsil of Betul district. 

Until 2013, he lived in Pune, working as a software developer with a generous salary. Despite having opportunities to work with other multinational companies, Vijay had different aspirations. 

When his father's health began to decline, Vijay made the courageous decision to leave his job and return to his village to support his family.

The Challenge of Change:

Returning to Dunava presented Vijay with a significant challenge: making his return impactful. He quickly realized that his family's traditional farming methods were not yielding sufficient income. 

The annual turnover from their 17-acre farm was just two and a half lakhs, with expenses continuing to rise. Recognizing the need for innovation, Vijay decided to experiment with mango farming.

Planting the Seeds of Success:

Using his educational background, Vijay planted 1,200 mango saplings of various varieties on 7 acres of land. This decision proved to be a game-changer. 

Today, his orchard produces over 30 different varieties of mangoes, transforming the farm's productivity and profitability.

A New Business Model: Leasing the Orchard:

Initially, Vijay sold the mangoes himself, which was profitable but labor-intensive and time-consuming. To streamline operations, he began leasing out his orchard. 

Each year, the orchard is auctioned, and the highest bidder gains the right to sell the mangoes while maintaining the orchard. 

This arrangement brings Vijay a direct profit of 10 to 12 lakhs annually, providing a comfortable income comparable to his previous IT job but without the associated stress.

The Diverse and Profitable Orchard:

Vijay's orchard is not only successful but also diverse. It boasts popular mango varieties such as Langra, Chaunsa, Hapus, Dussehri, Safeda, and Malda. 

Additionally, it includes rare types like Swarnpari and Alphonso, which flourish in the unique climate of Betul. 

This variety ensures that the contractors leasing the orchard also make significant profits.

Vijay Pawar's journey from software engineering to successful mango farming is a testament to the potential of rural entrepreneurship and innovative farming practices. 

By leveraging his education and existing resources, Vijay has created a profitable and sustainable business model.
